Oklahoma City Civic and Religious Leaders Rally to Oppose Discriminatory Policies of Trump Administration

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma – – Americans Against the Next War (AANW) with a coalition of Oklahoma civic and religious groups announces a rally to be held Friday, February 10, 2017, at 1:00 pm, on the south plaza of the Oklahoma State Capitol. The public is invited.

The rally is in concert with demonstrations across the U.S. protesting President Trump’s executive order banning travel to the U.S. for refugees and citizens of seven Muslim-majority countries, and his call for a wall between the US and Mexico.

Speaking will be local civic and religious leaders including, Imam of the Islamic Society of Greater Oklahoma City Imad Enchassi, Latino Community Development Agency Attorney Michael Brooks Jimenez, Temple B’Nai Israel Rabbi Vered Harris, East 6th Street Christian Church Rev. Jesse Jackson, and Oklahoma Conference of Churches Board Member Nathaniel Batchelder.

Americans Against the Next War is a coalition of individuals from central Oklahoma dedicated to peace in the Middle East and justice for all the world’s people. Co-sponsors of the rally with AANW include the Peace House OKC, the Islamic Society of Greater Oklahoma City (ISGOC), First Unitarian Church of OKC, Social Justice Committee of West Wind Unitarian Church of Norman, and KVOY Radio.
